My husband and I are planning to stay in Cilento for 2-3 nights before going north to the Sorrento area. We plan to arrive to Agropoli by train and would like to try to avoid renting a car in Agropoli. We would like to visit Paestum and Santa Maria di Castellabate. We like to be outside and walk and are perfectly happy to take buses/cabs when necessary (1) Is it reasonable to try to do this without a car? (2) Would it be possible to stay in Santa Maria without a car, and just use the bus to visit Paestum, or is it simply to far off the beaten track to do this way; would Agropoli be easier?
