Can anyone recommend a working farm (vineyard preferable)to rent an apartment for a week around Bologna, Parma, etc.? I've looked now for months, without much success. I would prefer a small family place, no pool needed. Recommended websites would be great, too. I know it's out there....

Check out these two sources: www.specialplacestostay.com and www.karenbrown.com (Look in the Italy B&B category for the latter.) Even though they list mainly inns and small hotels, many of the places also have a few apartments. We have used both for Italy and other countries many times and have always been happy with the accommodations.

Thank you so much for the recommendations! The Karen Brown site was great - there were farm stay places I hadn't heard of anywhere else. We will be staying at one of those recommended on that site - Il Palazzo in Brisighella, an interesting small area outside of Bologna, definitely off the beaten path - just the way we like it! Will report back when we return.
