Agriturismos close to San Gimignano

My family of four is looking for an agriturismo for a couple of days on our way down from Lake Maggiore to Rome. Any suggestions?

Teresa,
We haven't been there yet, but our family of four has reservations at Agriturismo Niccolai, just outside the San Gimignano city center, for later this month. Here's a link to their website http://www.agriturismoniccolai.it/

I found it (and most of the other agriturismos where we've stayed) through http://en.agriturismo.it/ Select your region (Toscana) and your province (if I remember correctly, San Gimignano is in Siena province) and whatever else you want through "advanced search." Then when the results come back, you'll have the option to "change your filters." Select this and you get a few more options, including "children welcome" and "great food and wine." I've found the "children welcome" option especially helpful to find the places that actually cater to kids (highchairs, playgrounds, etc.) rather than those who just tolerate them or are more geared toward romantic couples.
Ciao,
Meredith

Thank you Meredith. I have been checking on this, and I love the place you have chosen. I wanted something a bit less pricey and more authentic. So,I think I have found it after several hours of goint back and forth. I really do appreciate your response.

I meant to also say that I have two very tall teenage sons, who need a chance to chill out as much as we will by the time we get to the Sienna region of Italy. It will be the 11th day of our 23 day trip. And I am wanting to stay put at least two days out in the countryside before heading into Rome.

On one of our trips to Italy our family of 4 stayed at Il Rosolaccio (www.rosolaccio.com) for 1 week of a 3 wk. trip. We stayed in apt. Ginestra and it was very comfortable. We did daytrips around the region which worked out great. You can check out the website with pictures. It is located just outside San G. They have a lovely swimming pool that your boys might enjoy too. Am not sure if they will rent for several nights or if it is week long stays only.
