Is it possible to visit one of the Agriturismo's and not stay overnight?
We just want to eat and enjoy, then be on our way. Any advice?
Hi Greg, We have only stayed at one agriturismo, La Crociona in Montalcino. While in Tuscany for that week, we discovered that many agriturismi/wineries are only open by appt. and meals are only offered for guests staying at the site. There are exceptions but most of the owner /operators are too busy with their farms to host day trippers unless it is a tour company that takes you there as part of their specific day tour. There are wineries that have restaurants but tours of the operations are not usually offered. Try the website slowtravel.com, you may find more help there. Ciao, Sherry
Yes, some do operate as restaurants in the evening. Two on RS tours had large dining rooms serving many people other than those staying as guests. I wouldn't recommend the experience. I would rather get myself situated at my hotel then find dinner nearby.
Do you know of the names for the ones that operate as restaurants in the evenings? Thanks in advance
