My wife and I are in our late 60's early 70's, will be leaving Florence after 5 nights following nearly three weeks of travel through the Adriatic and Veneto, renting a car for a drive through Tuscany for 3 or 4 nights that may conclude in Orvieto.
We are thinking about dropping the car in Orvieto and staying a night or so before leaving for Rome by car where we plan to stay 5 nights. My wife prefers not to drive on to Rome.
We would like a place to stay for two nights to explore the Siena/Chianti region hill towns, one that is comfortable. Preferably one with a good restaurant attached. We are not looking for a spa or cooking classes. We would enjoy the natural surroundings.
We are considering a second agritourism location in southern Tuscany with similar characteristics to explore that region for 2 nights after leaving the northern location.
Are there any favorites that may fit our needs? Are there any suggestions regarding these plans?
