Agriturismo -Tuscany

Hey appreciate your insight on a cool agriturismo to explore the Tuscan countryside. Something not too far from Florence for a day trip and of course explore the vineyards. Looking at Villa Le Barone but wondering if any vineyards have a place to stay?

We stayed at Castello di Verrazzano. just outside Greve and about 22km south of Florence. Verrazzano is a winery and produces excellent wines. They also produce amazing, balsamic vinegar and honey.

There is a farmhouse complex down the hill from the winery that has guest rooms. Ours was very spacious and comfortable and from what I see is typical of agriturismos. The rate is very reasonable.

Be sure to sign up for the breakfasts, which are amazing. Also block out an afternoon to tour the winery and have an amazing food and wine pairing. The nice thing is you don't have to drive afterwards. We walked the grounds, then returned to our room for a rest and recovery before heading to Greve in the evening.

We left our car and took the commuter bus into Florence. It takes 30-40 minutes to reach the hear of Florence and is inexpensive. We made fast friends of the wonderful staff and hope to stay there again.
