Agriturismo suggestions Tuscany

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some personal recommendations for an agriturismo that welcomes children (11 and 14); has a swimming pool; option for cooking classes and is located Tuscany or Umbria. We would be driving from Rome, so wouldn't want to be more than 3 hours drive. Looking to stay 6 nights in July, so also need the flexibility of the non 7 nights/ non Saturday to Saturday. Happy to have 1 bedroom with a sofa bed, budget around $US150 per night. I know people have already asked this question loads of times, and I have looked at some of the suggestions but they are not quite right. La Falconara is closest so far but maybe something closer to Siena. The non-negotiable is the pool:) We stayed in an agriturismo on Lake Garda that backed on to a laneway in the town, which was perfect location wise but I appreciate that most are further out. Any suggestions gratefully received as I am completely overwhelmed with options!

This might not help you at this very moment, but very worth looking into considering the ages of your kids for the near future. I'm a single Mom with a 14 yr old son & we are going to stay in a way of work trade during part of our Italy trip. Check out www.helpx.net & www.wwoof.net as it's the Best way to experience true Europe. Enjoy! ~

Found this hope it helps. Ciao

Live out your bucolic fantasies at one of Italy's growing number of agriturismi (farm stays). A long-booming industry in Tuscany and Umbria, farm stays are spreading across the country like freshly churned butter. While all agriturismi are required to grow at least one of their own products, the farm stays themselves range from rustic country houses with a handful of olive trees to elegant country estates with sparkling pools or fully functioning farms where guests can pitch in. To find lists of agriturismi, ask at any tourist office or check online at one of these sites: Agriturist (www.agriturist.com) Agriturismo.it (www.agriturismo.it) Agriturismo.net (www.agriturismo.net) Agriturismo.com (www.agriturismo.com) Agriturismo-Italia.net (www.agriturismo-italia.net) Agriturismo Vero (www.agriturismovero.com)

Poggio Etrusco is a delightful agriturismo outside of Montepulciano with a pool, and Pamela Sheldon Johns is a renowned cookbook author who conducts cooking classes on site. No 7 night minimum. Charming place and lovely hosts!

Try this one, have stayed here several times, fantastic hosts. Very few places not more than an hours drive. Easy access to Umbria also.

Try booking for a week if they won't book 6 nights, they're pretty adaptable, and using only six nights would still, on a 2B/2b. It would still be under €142,00. Thomaso is showing availability.

Its 1/2 hr from Siena.

Lovely pool, free bikes, as available, foosball game, washer/dryer for customer use at a small charge.

Thanks everyone for these suggestions - they all look great! A couple outside our budget sadly but will report back when we make the final decision! I currently have a booking for an agritursimo outside Pienza (its says 5 mins drive on Google maps), but it has no air conditioning. It's currently 35 centrigade where I live - similiar to Pienza in summer? Or does the mercury climb higher? 3 years ago we were in a European heatwave and Paris was unbearable without AC, but am I right in that the tiled floors and smaller windows keep it cooler?

I almost hate to give this away but it's out of the way enough that folks probably won't follow this recommendation. Agriturismo Il Meleto with views of Civita de Bagnoregio is a perfect place to stay. We traveled throughout Umbria and Tuscana using this as a base. The hostess is a wonderful person. When we return, this is the place. Say hi to the donkeys for us.

I can't say enough about Fonte Bertusi outside of Pienza. Probablly one of my favorite stays in Italy. I've reccomended it to so many friends who've had the same wonderful experience.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions - appreciate the help! In the end I opted for AirBnB outside Pisa as it is within budget, able to accommodate 5 nights stay, offers cooking classes and wine tours and is (supposedly) walking distance to the village. Also easier to pick up an automatic car at PIsa International airport as the one way drop off fees proved pricey! Will let you know how it goes!
