Agriturismo suggestions

Will be traveling to Tuscany with my family during October. I am looking for suggestions for an agriturismo. We want to stay midway between Florence and Rome and we will have a car. Would also like it to be family friendly ( we have children 8 and 11). Does not have to be fancy, would prefer it be rustic and a decent price. There are so many options it would be nice to try and narrow it down.
Thanks in advance.

We are at Agriturismo Lupone outside of orvieto right now - would highly recommend it! Beautiful views, beautiful accommodations- wonderful hosts. As this was the first place like this I have been to, I didn't know what to expect- I thought it would be more like an in house b&b - maybe I didn't look at the pictures close enough. It far exceeds my expeditions.... All new rooms built around a beautiful courtyard that overlooks vineyard and olive groves- chef prepared lunch and gourmet dinner if you want. For three adults we paid 110 euro a night which included breakfast - a real gem we think!

Joanne: we are planning a trip in Sept/Oct 2015. Can you send or post a link for Agriturismo Lupone? The results of a Google search were not successful. I think I found it on TripAdvisor but no link.

Thanks

I have attached information from our Italy guidebook for a few agriturismos:

At [$$$] Agriturismo Locanda Rosati, you’ll be greeted by friendly hosts Giampiero Rosati and niece Cristiana, who rent 10 tastefully decorated rooms in a pleasant, homey atmosphere (Db-€110-140, Tb-€140-160, full traditional dinners for €35 on request with this book, air-con, Wi-Fi, swimming pool, 5 miles from Orvieto on the road to Viterbo, tel. 0763-217-314, hwww.locandarosati.it, info@locandarosati.it).

I Greppi di Silli is a lovely, family-run agriturismo set among rolling hills. Owners Anna and Giuliano Alfani cultivate Chianti grapes and olive trees, and offer six carefully remodeled apartments with beds for 2-6 people, some with panoramic views and/or terraces; a seventh apartment (sleeps 8) is a mile away in an old country house (Db-€115-280 or €735-1,900/week, price depends on apartment, less off-season; one-week minimum--Sat-to-Sat--in July-Aug, fewer nights possible in shoulder and low season--but generally still a 3-night minimum; breakfast extra, pool, kids’ play area, table tennis, bocce ball court, loaner bikes, weekly farm dinners-€30/person--less for kids, Via Vallacchio 19, near San Casciano and just outside the village of Mercatale Val di Pesa, about 45 minutes’ drive to Florence or San Gimignano and one hour from Siena, tel. 055-821-7956, www.igreppidisilli.it, igreppidisilli@gmail.com).

We do list other agriturismos by region in our Italy guidebook. Check under Sleeping in any given town to see if we have listed nearby options. I hope this helps!

Good Morning!
I live in Tuscany and I can suggest Cortona as a base to travel to Florence and Rome. Cortona overlooks the entire Valdichiana valley and is situated in a strategic geographical position, is a perfect starting point to reach and discover also Siena, Assisi, the Tuscan coast with its beaches or the Abetone with its ski slopes in less than 2 hours. I can suggest you 2 wonderful agriturismi
1) [http://www.rentintuscany.it/strutture_ricettive/10/villa_gardenia_5_apartments_of_3_to_5_sleeping_accommodations_each_(sleeps_a_total_of_20)_cortona_farm_holiday.html][1]

2)http://www.rentintuscany.it/strutturericettive/18/villabiancospino6apartmentsfrom2to7sleepingaccommodationseach(sleepsatotalof25)cortonafarm_holiday.html

I can grant for both.

Enjoy Tuscany and have a good day!
Federica

Oops ,I also should have added, there was a kitchenette in our room ( had we been there a little longer ,we should have used it).
