agriturismo marciano

We are staying here (agriturismo marciano) for 2 nights in Aug. 2014.
I have sent a couple of emails to owners with a few questions but have not received an answer.
Maybe someone can help me.
1. What time does breakfast start at? Need to know because we want to book trains (early enough) from florence to ventimiglia for our day of departure?
2. Also is it worth taking bus to florence since it is faster and more buses departing from siena despite the fact that the train station is closer to marciano? How long does it take to get to bus station?
3. We have 1 night booked for dinner at marciano, looking for suggestions for 2nd night of dinner in Siena?

Thanks for the help!

Breakfast here sounds quite nice. But if they're baking fresh each morning, I wouldn't expect to eat before 8:00 (purely a guess). Some hotels will pack you a simpler breakfast, if you must leave early. If you can get the bill paid the night before, then that will be one less task for the morning.

The agriturismo suggests that Siena is only a 5 minute drive or taxi ride. Some buses leave from Siena train station and others from the city center, but a bus to Florence is not going the right way for your destination. I would depart Siena by train with a connection at Empoli to get to the French border. How to Look Up Train Schedules Online gives you the DB train schedule link and tips for using it.

You are so lucky you will be staying at Agriturismo Marciano...it is one of our favorite places! We stayed there in '09 & I don't recall what time breakfast was but as for a dinner suggestion in Siena, the owners suggested a restaurant just to the right of the main piazza in Siena and it was downstairs in what appeared to be an old cellar. I have their business card somewhere & will try to dig it out so I can let you know the name of the restaurant but I'm sure the owners will suggest it to you otherwise. Anyhow, the food was excellent and the prices were extremely reasonable. Hubby & I still talk about that meal as well as the incredible dinners at the agriturismo. You can't go wrong!

We went to the same place in Siena that Sheron describes. It was good, and not over priced. It's pretty hard to find anything in Italy that will match your dinner experience at Marciano.

Because they bake fresh pastries every morning, breakfast preparation starts early. We had an early train to catch so we snacked on some juice and some of the pastries from the day before - still very good. The young woman who was baking was apologetic that the new pastries weren't ready, but we didn't expect anything more and were quite happy with the snack. Actually that early morning in the kitchen with breakfast cooking and the cat milling about is one of my fond memories of the agriturismo, not that I have any bad memories. It was all good! You can easily get a taxi to the bus or the train station from the Marciano. They called for us and it wasn't very expensive. I would trust their suggestions for dinner. I can't remember the name of the place where we ate in Siena, but it was in the RS guidebook and it was good.
