Hello everyone we are planning our trip to Sorrento . I was going to book a farmhouse near Sorrento from the agriturismo.it site . Is all accommodations on this site legit . They said i'd have to book by doing a bank transfer for a deposit is this usual.

Personally, I have decided to stop booking accommodations that ask for an advance deposit by check or other inconvenient method. You could make a bank transfer for a small deposit, but you have no protection for getting that money back if the deal falls through. agriturismo.it does have some listings for places that accept credit cards.

I'll have a go at answering the actual questions you asked as I don't think that you have received those yet.
I have no idea if all accommodations are "legit". All is a very big word. I would say that it seems to me that the vast majority are. All and never are too big for me.
Bank transfers are very common in Europe. Checks (cheques) are nearly defunct in both England and Europe. I haven't written one in years, using bank transfers almost exclusively. If they won't take cards, and many won't, they may take PayPal.
Have you tried communication directly with the owner and saying how much you love the place and asking of they could make an alternative arrangement?
Have you communicated with any of the TA reviewers?
