Agriturismo in Umbria, convent in Rome

Any recommendations for an agriturismo in Umbria? Would it be better to stay near Gubbio or Spoleto? We will be staying near Siena later, and are hoping to find accommodations where we can do some cooking and see another part of Italy prior to that. We will also be in Rome for 4 nights and are looking for relatively quiet and inexpensive accommodations. Perhaps a convent? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Hi Kay,

For the agriturismo in Umbria, check out Genius Loci Country Inn www.geniuslociumbria.com. It's a newly restored farmhouse, REALLY nice with LOTS of character in the vineyards near Bevagna, a GREAT location.
Sorry I can't help you on the other part of your question.

Kay,
My highest recommended stay in all of Europe in our 5 weeks of travel was the Suore di Santa Elisabetta. It's a Polish convent in Rome with an amazing roof top terrace. It's a wonderful, peaceful refuge in busy Rome.
