Agriturismo in Tuscany for October?

We'll be in Tuscany for three nights as part of our honeymoon in mid-October, and we'd like to stay in a centrally located agriturismo that allows us to access at least San Gimignano and some other hill towns. If possible, we'd also love to take a cooking class or participate in some other activities on the agriturismo. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good agriturismo in Tuscany that allows us to take enough day trips for three nights?

Thank you!

October is the best time to go to this region as the farmers are in the middle of their harvest. And a rental car is the best way to go from hilltown to hilltown.
Booking.com and possibly TripAdviser has many listings. Virtually every farm has apartments and rooms as a secondary source of income--hundreds and hundreds of agriturismos.
I often will go to GoogleMaps and put in a specific town's name, like San Gimignano. Then I'll hit the "+" at the bottom right of the page to zoom in on the map--magnifying it. Look for little bed icons, and you can easily find agriturismos to stay in. Certaldo is another good town to stay outside of, and it's just about 4 miles from San Gimignano.

Look at Borgo Argenina close to Greve in Chianti. Elena cooks with her guests and the view is just delightful.

Also, look at Cretaiole - south of Montalcino. Everyone raves about this agriturismo.

We have stayed in these areas in our numerous trips to Tuscany and you can easily drive to many villages from these locations.

Explore Volterra, Cortona, Montepulciano, and Panzano for sure !!

Google Villa Arnilu, just outside San Gimi. Individual rooms are a possibility.

Try the ever popular Agriturismo Marciano in Siena. We stayed there a few years back and will stay there again this year; can't wait! It is centrally located for day trips and the farmhouse and people who run it are wonderful. They offer optional dinners which are to die for, comprised only of fresh ingredients grown on the farm or from the daily market and they pair each course with their own wines which flow generously throughout the evening. Read the reviews...they are consistently excellent and everyone raves about the dinners. Breakfast is included in the rate and served around the farmhouse table. They consist of a large variety of items including a different freshly baked pastry every day. They also offer cooking classes if enough people are interested. The room rates are very reasonable considering the quality and the rooms are very comfortable.

Another big "thumbs up" for the Agriturismo Marciano. We just spent one week (of a three week trip) at this wonderful place, and it was definitely the highlight. Great folks running it........incredible dinners.........wonderful breakfasts..........convenient to many towns (if you have a car). My wife loved the cooking class. I can't say enough!

No, no, no! Please stop recommending Marciano in public. PM the info. I knew the day would come when I couldn't get in, and that day arrived. I tried months ahead to book there for this month. Nothing. I ended up at another Agriturismo that I didn't like anywhere as much.

Thank you for all the advice! We ended up choosing Marciano (and were fortunate enough to secure a room!). Looking forward to our time in Tuscany!!

Since you hit the jackpot and got into Marciano, my best advice is to eat dinner there every chance you get. It will be the best food you will have in Italy.
