Agriturismo in Siena area

Hi, don't even know where to start as there seem to be 100's, if not more, options. Two of us traveling together and we are going in October to stay 4 nights in Siena or a surrounding town (preferably north or northwest). Does anyone have any favorites that they have stayed at? If so, can you advise? Thank you very much!

Hi Jason, Last fall I stayed at a wonderful winery outside of Siena. I was able to live there for two months, during which the vines turned a beautiful yellow and, a few weeks later it snowed. They have nightly rates, though, and they are reasonable. This is a farm that has been in the Simoni family for generations, and three generations still live there. The rooms are all meticulously cleaned and lovely. My favorites were the upstairs ones. There are only two. One had a princess bed and the other had a view of the vinesand a better kitchen. They have good bicycles to borrow and they are on the city bus line to Siena which comes every 1 to 2 hours with a midday break. It is called Agriturismo Montaperti or Podere Giardino, www.montaperti.it is the direct website although it is listed on other reservation sites, too. Please tell Elisabetta that Elisabetta from Oregon said hi! (I now split my time between Siena and Corvallis, Oregon). I have not seen her since she had her baby, who is probably crawlng by now. Enjoy! (Piacere!)

Hi Jason. We stayed at Agriturismo Marciano in Siena & absolutely loved it. You can read the reviews on TA which are good. Staying there is a wonderful experience; the rooms are clean and comfortable, the hosts are very warm and accomodating and the optional dinners are to die for!
