Does anyone know of any Agriturismo's open in Tuscany around Siena, Montalchino, Montepulciano In Februaury? We have heard most open in March due to the winter season. Also any recommendations on which area is best to stay in to visit other towns and access to Florence? Right now I have booked 5 nights in Florence but am thinking about doing 2 nights in Florence and 3 nights in the Countryside....Any opinions from the group??

Yes! Poggio Etrusco is open. It is just outside of Montepulciano and the owners could not be nicer people. Be aware it is off-season and it can be chilly in Tuscany. Keeps the crowds down, though.
The countryside gives an entirely different perspective to Italy than the city, but the city is a safer haven in poor weather. Also, you must have a car to go to the countryside, while it is an inconvenience in Florence.
