Agriturismo in/around Siena, Italy

My husband and I will be traveling in tuscany Oct. 12-24. We're looking for an agriturismo around Siena. The one RS recommends (Poggio Salvi) is booked. Any suggestions for a good place to stay would be most welcome! Thanks!

Anne-Marie, definitely consider Agriturismo Marciano! We had an incredible stay there in Sept '09. The rates are very reasonable and the optional dinners are absolutely to die for!! You can read the reviews on Trip Advisor. We still talk about the agriturismo & our gracious hosts. The room we stayed in was very clean and comfortable. Have a great trip.

Hi: Thanks for the recommendation. Just checked Agriturismo Marciano and they are fully booked, except for Oct. 13-15. We were hoping to get a week's stay. It looks wonderful, however . . .

We loved the Agri Borgo Sicelle, 13 miles from Siena in Castellina-in-Chianti. For only $75/nite we had a huge apt., with a fantastic view, pool, etc. The owners were wonderful, and we were close to some great restaurants. Check out their reviews on Trip Advisor.

We booked at Agriturismo Marciano based on the reviews. We are there for the weekend of Oct 7th 2011.

What Sheron said. Agriturismo Marciano was my favorite place to stay in Italy, and probably ties for my favorite place anywhere. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Now you all are definitely making me regret that we can't get reservations at Marciano! Hopefully Nan will have better luck.
