Agriturismo for Family with Small Children

I'm looking for suggestions for a Tuscan agriturismo for Mid August. We are a family of four with children ages 7 and 9. I'm leaning towards Cretaiole, but I'm interested in some other ideas.

August in Italy is HOT! I would strongly recommend to get a place with a pool where the kids can cool off. I didn't see one in the description for Cretaiole and that would not have worked for our family. May I ask what they quoted as a rate? I don't like websites that keep their rates secret ... We used this agency to find a place: www.interchalet.co.uk and ended up with a place that was a great budget option but does require a car:

We stayed at Crociana which is located just outside of Montalcino. It has a pool and the family has a small vineyard. We had a small apt and enjoyed it-it had another section to it that connected, if needed, for additional space. There is a covered terrace with a grill for outdoor cooking for guests. Small kitchen area had everything needed for quick meals and breakfasts.

Check our Il Canto del Sole, just outside Siena. Its recommended in RS 2011, and well reviewed on TA. I corresponded with the hosts several times before booking our upcoming stay in May, and they have been quite helpful. Also, they have a pool and their rates were quite reasonable.

This is a tough search as many agriturismos appear to be glorified hotels.

Chris, last June we stayed at Agri Borgo Sichele outside of Castalina in Chianti. We loved the place; great owners, great prices, pool. etc. Our large one bedroom apt was only $65 EU/nite. They have other apts that will handle more people. I have to agree: a pool is a must for that time of year. Our Umbrian Agri outside of Orvieto (agri Frallarenza) was the real thing; we stayed in an apt in the owners farmhouse. It also had a pool, but that was the extent of the non-farm amenities. The owners were awesome, and it was also very lo-cost; only $75 EU/nite. Google/Trip Advsior both of these; we thought they were excellent value for the money, and would provide some good experiences for both parents and children.

Cretaiole doesn't have a pool but they have a couple of kids bracketed arounds yours, age-wise. It isn't a/c but they provided fans. We loved our stay, but we didn't have children with us.
