Hi -- we'd like to find a great family farm situation within about 3 hours of Rome, one that welcomes (tolerates) childen, preferably with some animals, a pool would be great. We have 10 and 14 yo daughters; it appears many of the farm stays cater to wine-loving adults, fewer to goat-loving children. Thanks --- Sara

We liked Tenuta Di Corbara, just outside Orvieto. It was a hilltop setting with beautiful views. I remember there being a llama there, but I can't remember what other animals. They had a nice pool-- much too chilly for swimming in October, but we didn't let that stop us ;-)

Try Italy Farm Stay. Great reviews on RS and other sites. It is about 2 hours from Rome and not in a touristy area. My kids love the area.
