Agriturismo by bus

We will be travelling around Italy by public bus and train this October. Is there a farm style lodging near Florence that we could access by bus? Or short taxi ride. Would really like the chance to stay in the Tuscan hills but do not want to drive.
Thanks.

Look for agriturismos near Greve. It's 40 minutes south of Florence and there are several commuter buses a day along SR222.

How do you envision spending time at the agriturismo? Most likely you'll need to take a taxi into town, such as Greve. You could get on the bus and continue to Panzano. Look at this bus scedule. You might be able to take a winery tour from Greve.

If you mostly want to hang out at the agriturismo, I think you could stay without a car. It's hard for me to imagine staying in Tuscany without the ability to drive through the countryside and explore the towns. If you don't want to drive, you could also consider taking tours from Florence or Siena. There are companies that take small vans.

There is actually an Agriturismo inside Florence, walking distance from where I lived. It was a small farm when I was growing up, now it’s an agriturismo. It’s a rural setting, in the little bit of countryside left within the city limits, but it’s not on the hills, it’s right on the flat land in Florence. It’s called Agriturismo Le Macine. I know where it is, having spent my childhood stealing their peaches and cherries, but it has been remodeled and converted into an Agriturismo in recent years so I have no idea what it looks like now. It’s a very short walk from there to Viale Europa, where you can catch a bus into the city center 20 min away by bus. The website is below. It doesn’t look fancy but prices are low.

Any other Agriturismo option near Florence would not be as easily doable without a car.

There are also Villa hotels surrounded by beautiful green grounds on the hills overlooking Florence, but I’m not sure you’ll like the prices, since they tend to be pricey.
Here are some of those:

Thank you for the information. Over the weekend we have decided to stay in Florence and do day trips from the city. The agritourismo will have to wait for another trip.
