Hello- I was wondering if anybody here has experience doing agriturism in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Italy. I've never stayed in any of them myself so if you have any experiences (even if they are in other Italian provinces), I'm more than happy to hear and learn. The goal is to learn what people experienced so I know what to expect. I'm going to be in Italy in mid-October and am passing through the Julian Alps back into Italy from Slovenia. Want to take the opportunity to experience this region on a farm setting versus a hotel as I have hear the food and wine are both excellent here. All comments/experiences are welcome. Thanks,
Kevin
We stayed at the La Boatina winery, a B&B just outside of Cormons. The rooms were very basic, but great. The best part was the optional 2-3 hr multi-course lunch paired with their wines. Awesome! They also recommended a local roadhouse for dinner that was spectacular (but I can't recommend the name). We found the winery to be a good base to explore the local area. http://www.castellodispessa.it/en/boatina.php Their sister winery/B&B, Castle La Spessa is really opulent, and deserves a look.
