We plan to spend a week on the Adriatic coast after our Rick Steves Sicily tour in May. The plan is to visit WW2 sites where my father in law served as a Canadian soldier. We’ll fly into Bologna, rent a car, spend three nights each near the Adriatic coast or somewhat inland in Rimini/Pesaro/Urbino area and then Ortona area. Then we’ll drive to Rome Campania and drop the car. We would welcome any suggestions or ideas re Agriturismo or other great places to stay, and ideas re great hikes or beach walks. Many thanks!

Look in San Bartolo park, north of Pesaro. Lovely coastal area with hiking trails and small villages.

Booking.com or Agriturisimos.com will pop up places to stay. In some regions of Italy, farms are very small and just about every farmer will have rooms or apartments as a secondary source of income.
You can also go onto Google Maps and pick a city. Magnify it a couple of clicks. Then hit "Hotels" at the top of the page. Where there are agriturisimos, they'll pop up on the map as icons. And you can click on the icon and get into their direct website.

I can recommend you a few places where you can stay in the area ... but one it is in Iesi and is a very nice hotel or another onea near Ancona at a vineyard where they have few rooms and a restaurant and of course a wine cellar, both are 70km or so from Pesaro ... I know the area pretty well and can recommend from sleeping to restaurants also several places to visit and so on.
