Agritourismo recommendations

We will be traveling in the Italian hill country mid October for 5 days. We are a retired but active couple. Looking for agritouristo recommendations, not necessarily fancy but authentic and a private bathroom is important. Grazie Mille for your recommendations.

Pamela,

I think you need to be more specific about the area you will be traveling. Virtually all of Italy can be classified as "hill country."

Addendum: I am showing my ignorance. By "hill country" I am meaning around the Tuscany area--Sienna, Orvieto, Montepulciano, etc. I did find some recommendations after posting this for recommendations around Sienna and Orvieto but will gladly read more. Thank you.

Elena Nappa of Borgo Argenina outside of Castellina in Chianti- we loved this property and she cooks with all of her guests one evening ! We had a blast. Breakfast includes a fresh baked treat which you can enjoy outside overlooking the expansive grape orchard-just delightful !

Selita of Casa Selita in Orvieto - beautiful setting outside the walls - she gave us flashlights to walk through the olive groves for our way up to the town

Frances Lodge above Siena - you have views of the city and the hills and you can just walk down into the town for dinner

Casa Chilenne - this is in Cortona, but Jeanette is an American married to an Italian and when you arrive, she greets you with fresh hot apple cake and coffee

I have read about so many others on this site - these are just our favorites !
