Agrigento - museum and temple site - how much time to allocate?

Hello

On Sunday, 4/28, we're picking up a car at the Palermo airport.
The primary goal of the afternoon is to see the museum and Temples at Agrigento.

Hopefully, we have good weather!

How long do people spend at the museum and temple site?
Here's what I'm wondering: when we pick up the car, we could assess if we have enough time for a 2 hour stop in-route. But that means we have to have a feal for the time we'd spend in Agrigento in the afternoon.
Perhaps I shouldn't think of "playing games" and just head straight there.

What was your time there like?
Thank you.

We spent two nights there. We ended up going to the sites later in the first day as the rain had cleared up. I would allow at least four hour, historic site( memorable) and the museum( excellent). Most of the historic sites in Greece include an excellent museum.
Do not bother driving up the hill to the city center,
not pleasant, beggars etc

Suki, thank you.
The Temple grounds are extensive. Is the "4 hours" just for them? Adding time for the museum?

We visited the temples at Paestum. And have been to Athens. So temples, in general, aren't new to us. But we love to stare at them and take out time.

I tried to find YouTube videos to give an idea of the museum collection. Pottery is the main thing I saw in them - pottery won't captivate us.

We didn’t go to the museum and spent 3 hours walking amongst the temples.

We went with a guide we picked up at the entrance. I would highly recommend a guide. We spent about three hours touring the temples. We got there at 5 pm which turned out to be a lovely time.

We didn't go to the museum.

Three hours is about right. The museum did not rate highly with me. If you’re concerned about time you could totally give it a miss. Parking at the museum is a royal pain too.
