Afternoon trips from Montipulciano

Hi
We will be taking a language class for a week in Montipulciano. We will have every afternoon free from 1:00 on. Can anyone suggest hot springs, wineries and hikes within an hour or 2 of Montipulciano? We will have a car.
Thanks!

Are you studying at Il Sasso? If so, generally Monday-Saturday there are some planned excursions that you can sign up for through the school. The cost is variable depending on what/where the outing is, but they are really fun and are also a great way to practice your Italian. The school has an Instagram page with pictures from the day trips that might help give you an idea of what they are like.

If you would rather go independently, La Foce is a wonderful garden to visit (https://www.lafoce.com/en/garden) or you can drive to Pienza and walk around the town down out to some very old churches that are probably 1-2 miles from the historic area. Heike from Il Sasso might be able to give you some past itineraries for solo trip inspiration.
Have a fantastic trip!

Pienza is great and also the Cugusi cheese farm just at the base of Montepulciano's hill -- https://caseificiocugusi.it
I also loved Bagno Vignoni, the bath town. You could easily do Rick's Val d'Orcia driving loop and do part of it each day.

Also check out the experiences offered at the Isabella Experience including a tour of their family farm right outside Pienza. This past June our family did several of these full cultural immersion activities and loved them. https://www.theisabellaexperience.com/en/experiences/
