I know the Vatican topic has been addressed ad nauseum on this website but I have not found a definitive post as to whether the lines thin out around lunchtime. Here's my plan: see what you think. I have reserved tickets for the Wednesday papal audience which can be picked up between 5-6:30 on Tuesday. I'm thinking we'd go on Tues(last week of May) around noon, see the museum and then pick up our tickets and then come back the next morning to see the Pope. The caveat is, will the lines be short enough around that time of day to allow us to get in and spend enough time before the museum closes.
