We will be returning to the Rome/Civitavecchia port after our cruise. We would like to go to the Amalfi coast for a few days before returning home. How would you do this as far as transportation goes? Taxi to Rome train station? OR? Please replay only if YOU have done this.

I posted a reply under other cruise question. Since you didn't say where you wanted to go on the Amalfi coast it is hard to response. Hopefully one of the train experts -- Lee or Tim -- will give you some idea if you can get to the Amalfi coast without returning to Rome. Any transportation to Rome via taxi or reserve cab will be expensive well in excess of 100E. Remember Civitavecchia is about 50, maybe 60 miles from Rome.

Thanks. We did this a few years ago but it sounds like the pickpockets read Rick's books and love this trip. We didn't have any problems last time but I wish there was another way to get to Sorrento.
