We are taking a RS trip from Florence to Rome in Sept. Any ideas of some day trips if we add a couple days at the end?

From Rome, take a day trip to Ostia Antica. It's very easy to get to and only about 1/2 hour or so outside Rome. It is a really large, ruined Roman town. You can explore the ruins, climb on top of them, walk to the top of buildings, and discover some hidden places. I think Rick must talk about it in his book of Rome. I highly recommend it.
