After Italy RS tour - what next?

I would like everyone's opinion on what city to visit after a 10 day RS tour to Italy (Venice, Florence, Rome). I would be flying out of Rome. What city would you visit if you had 3 days? (Prefer not in Italy) Grazie! =)

I would choose Paris or London for big cities. Brugge is a great relaxing picturesque small town.
Pls do not discount how wonderful Tusacany or Amalfi coast are and you are so close by in Rome.

With only three days and the need to get back to Rome, I'd stay pretty close to Rome. Otherwise you've got most one day going and one coming back. I'd agree with Tuscany or you might try the Amalfi coast.

Thanks for the info. I meant to actually say that my last day on the RS tour is in Rome - so I can go anywhere from there. I would prefer to get out of Italy and try a city in a different country. I've been to Paris and London several times now, so I would not choose those cities. So any ideas would be great!!

Grazie

I've been to Munich a couple of times and really enjoyed my visits. Salzburg is an easy day trip from Munich. Air One (an Italian airline) flies from Rome to Munich (Monaco di Barvaria) as feeder flights for Lufthansa. Air One doesn't charge a premium for one-way flights and often offers great promotional fares. There are a lot of direct flights from Munich to USA, which would save you the early morning connecting flight needed if you decided on Prague for example.

Highly suggest Salzburg (easy train ride from Rome). It's an awesome city and if time allows, take the regional train to Hallstat (heaven on earth). This beautiful little village in the middle of the Alps (Sound of Music territory) is only a hour ride from Salzburg.

Somewhere in Spain! Vueling flys from Rome to Madrid, Barcelona or Sevilla. Fare is anywhere from 36 Euros to 70 Euros depending on the day and time.

I like Leah's idea with Vienna and tie it into a day in Bratislava old town (home base in V. day trip to B.)

since youre in Rome and want to try different, you could goto the Dolomites on the northern border alps. Or try the French provence/coast areas for more hill towns then leave from Nice or Milan. But - since you have only 3 days - you may not want to spend 1/2 the time traveling - so Id suggest you go fly to someplace near a major airport to get home easily at the end of the trip. Barcelona, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Munich, or Frankfurt (for Rhine trips) - someplace with great city walking, sights, museums etc... to maximize your few days! Also - unless you live on the east coast - seems so few direct flights to europe except to major hubs.
