I have a few questions about the the different ways of getting to my hotel. 1) What is the distance from the Termini station to the Piazza Dell Repubblica? 2) Can a person walk this..with luggage? 3) Being it will be a short taxi fare are the taxi's willing to drive short distances? Thanks Beth

It's about 5 mins of walking without luggage, about 0.3 mile.
It will take you longer dragging luggage. And note that the map I'm going to link you to (below) says:
Use caution – This route may be missing sidewalks or pedestrian paths.

If you print out this map, show it to a taxi driver when you come out of Termini station, he will tell you if he's willing to drive that distance.

Beth, which hotel are you trying to get to? I stayed at Hotel Aberdeen on Via Firenze over Xmas and walked it, dragging my wheeled luggage with no problems. It took about 15 minutes.
