Affordable Rome restaurant with view

A group of friends are looking for an affordable restaurant in Rome that would have a nice view or be on a rooftop. We are looking for something that wouldn’t require a huge price tag or need elaborate clothing. It could even be just for desserts or drinks.
Thanks!

For apertivi you could do the rooftop bar at the Palazzo Navona Hotel. From 3-9 the offer appetizers with wine or a cocktail. It’s near Piazza Navona. Of course the bar is open later also.

Certainly continue to look for a place that appeals to you, but I have to say that the best places to eat have not been the best places for a view. Those places tend to be on famous piazzas, or high up...places taken by tourists restaurants where you pay for...well the view...not the food. I would try to check out reviews, and if some place appeals, go for it, I have had the best luck checking out Tripadvisor, Rick Steves and other guides; but to be honest, just getting off the main areas and finding a small restaurant has been the most successful, just by reading menus.

You might try the Food Hall on the top floor of the new La Rinascente flagship store on Via del Tritone. Some of the restaurants have good views and outdoor terraces. There's also a large rooftop bar, one flight up, with great views. My recollection is that the restaurants aren't outrageously expensive. There's an express elevator to the Food Hall, but the store itself is an amazing piece of architecture that's well worth visiting. Casual dress is perfectly OK, but I wouldn't go looking too ragged.
