Affordable driver from Fumicino, Rome to Arezzo

I need someone to meet me at my Delta flight on Oct 13. Then drive me to Arezzo. I’ll also need someone to drive me from Arezzo to Perugia on Oct 21. I’ll need another driver to pick my daughter up at Fumicino on Oct 21 & bring her to Perugia.
Then I’ll need someone to drive us around Umbria & maybe Tuscany for a few days. Then drive my daughter & I back to Fumicino flying out on Oct 27.
I’d like for the driver to speak English.
Is there something that doesn’t cost a fortune? Also is Blaablaacars.com a good company?
Thanks, Rosalinda Michael

If you would like to save some money, there are trains to go from the Rome Airport to Arezzo or Perugia. Let us know if you need help figuring out the trains. Then you could have a nice time with your sightseeing days with a private driver.

Not sure what the charge(s) would be, but contact a company named Rome Cabs. It is a private car service and not just a regular cab company. We've use them a number of times to and from the airport and will continue to do so. Suggest you send them an email outlining your needs and questions. You should receive an answer within 24 hours. If they can't meet your needs, ask them to suggest another company. We would not hesitate to follow their recommendation.

I also recommend you use trains. It's very easy and you will save hundreds of $$.
From the Airport you take a train at the FIUMICINO AEROPORTO station (across from Terminal 3).
You will need to go to Rome's main station called ROMA TERMINI or also ROMA TIBURTINA.
There you take a train to AREZZO
using the website below:
https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html
Enter from: FIUMICINO AEROPORTO to: AREZZO
Then enter a date (Oct 13) and an estimate time of departure (enter your estimated time of landing).
You will then see all the available train options.
You don't need to book anything in advance, actually you shouldn't since you don't know the exact time you can depart, since airplanes sometimes have delays. Just buy the train tickets at the ticket window or the automatic machine at the airport station when you get there. Seats don't sell out.

Do the same on the same website to check trains from AREZZO to PERUGIA. In that case you don't need to change trains, as trains from Arezzo to Perugia are direct regional commuter trains that require no change.

Your daughter can do the same by entering from: FIUMICINO AEROPORTO to PERUGIA.

In her case there might be two train changes necessary, at ROMA TERMINI (or ROMA TIBURTINA) and FOLIGNO

Regarding BlaBlaCar. That is a ride sharing service. For example let's say someone needs to go from Rome to Arezzo with his/her car. S/he would post on BlaBlaCar the ride sharing to share the cost in hope that someone else also wants to go to Arezzo and by doing so they could share the travel expenses. In the offer, they would meet at a designated pick up place in Rome and go to Arezzo together. The BlaBlaCar rider is not allowed to make a profit on that ride, it's only a way to share the travel cost (gas and toll) with others.

Linda, I'll just sing with the choir above that it would be VERY expensive to use drivers for all of this itinerary. If cost is a concern, make use of the (we think) economical and efficient train system. While trains may not be useful for exploring every corner of the Tuscan/Umbrian countryside, they will be a very good resource for travel to/from Rome, and to some of the Tuscan/Umbrian cities or towns.

It's a long way from Fiumicino to Arezzo, and petrol in Italy is expensive. As well, whomever picks you up at the airport has to return home after dropoff so it's not a one-way journey for them.

Thank you for answering my question. I know all about trains in Italy. My problem is I have a left shoulder in need of joint replacement surgery in February’24. I have a lot of pain and can’t carry luggage. I know a private driver is expensive but I don’t see any way around it.

If you look for "NCC fiumicino" or "NCC Rome" you find the several private car drivers available. NCC in Italian is an acronym for "Noleggio Con Conducente" = car with driver.
You will find several ones: send them a request for availability and quotation and check what they answer you. Rome - Arezzo should be 300€ probably. Write in English or specify you need a driver who speak English, so you find the right one for you.

but I don’t see any way around it.

You could book the free Sala Blu assistance at FCO and Roma Termini.

Then find an Arezzo-based driver and ask him to meet you by the tracks because you need assistance with luggage.

This way you'd save hundreds just hiring an Arezzo-based driver.
