Affordable accommodations in Cinque Terre

I read Rick's beautiful section about the Cinque Terre, and I fell in love. During my 2.5 week trip this summer I would love to stay 3-4 days here. I am having trouble finding places to stay (on a budget, keep in mind I am a traveling "youth"). Any suggestions?

Selina, It would help to have some further information. For example: > When will you be in the C.T.? > What is your budget criteria for "affordable"? > What "comfort level" would you prefer (ie: Hostel or budget Hotel)? > Do you have a preference for one of the five towns? > Which accommodations have you tried so far? With some further information, it would be easier to offer specific suggestions. Happy travels!

Selina, Have you found anything yet? If you still need information on accommodations, post another note.

we were travelling last summer , a family of four and could not find anything in the 5 villages so we ended up in Levanto which was a very good choice as the sea was nearby (pebbles) and the little town has good restaurants and is alive at night . We stayed at Albergo Primaverra . Clean, simple. bkst included. We were there for 2 nights. The first one we stayed in Levanto en enjoyed a swim, a nice meal .(trofie al pesto, Pansotti al la noce, antipasti de fruti de mare) Then the next day we bought the 24 h train pass and went to Monterosso al Mare and did the hike to Vernazza. Fantastic (lots of stairs in mountain, fantastic view) .Had luch in Vernazza and then went to Riomaggiore to starts the trails again. I think we were unable to do one as it was closed. Took train back to Levanto, swimm, change, Train again to go for supper in Vernazza.Great food (lasagna al pesto_
