Advise on Hotels/B&B's in: Florence, Venice, and Bellagio (Lake Como)

Hello! I am traveling to Italy for the first time this summer and would love to have some advice for inexpensive places to stay (either B&B's or hotels). I am looking for a place central to downtown, the train station, and within walking distance to the main sites. If you could please tell me your experience and what you enjoyed that would be wonderful. Thank you all so much!

I have used Rick Steves recs on hotels and B&B's for the past 12 trips we've gone to Europe and we find that they are good values and great locations. They're all in his books.

Great website for Florence, Rome and Venice is www.cross-pollinate.com. It is a B&B and apartment booking service run by an american couple out of Rome. I have used them many times and they are great. Check them out, they are reasonable.

Happy travels!!

We stayed at the Hotel Silla in Florence a year or so ago. Very clean, very safe, w/in walking distanct of Pitti Palace, the bridge, many small shops and restaurants. Friendly staff and outstanding breakfasts. Oh, also they have an elevator. :)
