I think you are seriously shortchanging Florence - but it really all depends upon your interests. In order to give you an idea if you've alotted enough time, maybe you could list what you would like to see/do in Florence!

I say slow it down, cut out a couple things, and savor each area more. Are you spending any time in Florence at all? There is so much to do in Florence. We do at least 4 nights in Florence every time we go - no need to hire a car - use WalkAbout Florence and do their BEST OF TUSCANY TOUR (you will see Sienna & SanG on this tour). You are using lots of precious time traveling - it takes tons of time to change cities and settle in hotels - & not enough time savoring Italy. You also don't have enough time in Rome. Are you not interested in Venice? I'd say do Venice, Florence (with WALKABOUT FLORENCE for the BEST OF TUSCANY TOUR and CHIANTI WINE & FOOD SARARI too), & Rome. You could always go to Sorrento if you want to see the Amalfi Coast, Herculaneum.

Thanks for the feedback. So not our first trip to Italy we’ve spent a lot of time in Venice a bit in Rome and some around Naples and down to Sicily. Did wonder if we could do the few days of car hire from Florence and Siena but we do fancy a couple of days meandering from place to place in a little Cabrio etc
