Advice is needed - Entrance Stamp at London to Italy via Eurotrain?

Hi all,

I'm Cat, Malaysian who has decided to come by to Europe for 6 months in depth of travelling, considering the Schengen Tourist Visa Restrictions, I'm permitted to stay in Europe for 90days, to overcome this restriction I will return to London to refresh my travelling stamp during my journey. I have a luxury to enjoy 180days tourist visa from UK, subjected if there isn't entry stamp at Schengen countries.

I do understand there are numerous changes due to immigrants issues recently, despite to detour to None Schengen Countries, can anyone share me if any immigration stamping upon arrival at Italy, namely Milan or Venice?

Looking forward for your favorable reply,

You are permitted to stay in "Schengen" for 90 days. Schengen is different than "Europe." Not all European countries are part of Schengen. (UK, Ireland, Romania, Bulgaria and Cyprus are in Europe but not in Schengen. They have separate entry rules. )

You will get an entry stamp where you enter Schengen and another when you exit. There are no stamps in between Schengen countries.

Schengen immigration has nothing to do with UK immigration where you will get a stamp as well when entering.

The Schengen rules are that you are allowed to stay in Schengen for 90 days within a 180 day period. So, you can't stay in Schengen for 90 days, go to the UK for a few, and then return to Schengen. If you stay in Schengen for 90 days, you will then have to leave for 90 days. If you overstay your allowance, you will get fined and banned from entering for up to 10 years.

Also be aware that you have to satisfy the immigration officers that you have enough funds to support yourself while traveling and don't plan to work. If you can't do that, they will assume you will try to look for illegal work and not let you in. Whether or not you are allowed in is up to the immigration officer. It is not guaranteed.

Here is a map and list of Schengen Countries

Catherine, If you travel by train between London and Paris (or London and and and other city in France or Belgium) you will go through border control, no different from any other Schengen Area border.
Border controls take place at the station before you get on the train. At London St Pancras station you exit the UK AND go through French/Schengen border controls before getting on the train.
In the other direction also you go through French/Schengen exit control, AND UK entry control at Paris Gare du Nord before getting on the train.
You then need to get another train or trains from Paris to Italy. There will be no border controls on these trains, as they are within the Schengen Area.

To second what Sam says, going to the UK does not "refresh my travelling stamp", it just stops the clock. The limit is 90 days in 180. If you return to the Schengen Area within 180 days your previous days still count.

BTW the train between Brussesl/Paris and London is called "Eurostar", not "Eurotrain".

If you fly from London to Italy, you go through Italian/Schengen border control when you land in Italy.

Wherever you enter Schengen--via plane, train, car, boat, foot--is where you will get your entry stamp. When you leave Schengen there will be an exit stamp so they know you left. As long as the time between the two is 90 days or less, you are fine.

If you stay the full 90 days you cannot return to Schengen for another 90 days.

You don't need to shorten your trip to 3 months, just plan it correctly.

Right. After your 90 days are up, spend the rest of your holiday in non-Schengen countries which allow you a tourist visa, depending on your citizenship. You could not return to the Schengen for another 90 days. With security being what it is these days, I wouldn't try to circumvent the rules (not that you intended to.)

Definitely heed the advice from Frank II and Kathy. I am sure that the immigration officials are very aware of people trying to extend their visit beyond 90 days. You do not want to be on their "bad side".

Schengen rules
Malaysian citizens in the possession of a valid passport do not need a visa to enter the countries of the Schengen Agreement, including Germany, as tourists or business travellers, if their stay is not longer than 90 days within 6 months.

So 90 days within 180 days in Schengen area countries. Your total allowed days is 90/180. So going to the UK will not allow re-entry to Schengen for an additional 90 days! However you may travel in and out of Schengen countries during you time as others have pointed out there are non-Schengen countries in Europe and UK etc. But it doesn't give you another 90 days in Schengen until 90 days outside of Schengen have passed.
