Unexpectedly one member will be non weightbearing in wheelchair. Trip over 5 weeks from now. We are going on cruise and have train tix roma termini to milan to then fly from there 2 days later. Can't switch to direct flight from rome right after cruise as all seats with extra legroom sold out except business or non direct (literally yesterday morning was available and when i we t on to book at night its soldout). We are in prima business car 3 but in ee Italo car 8 has wheelchair access to get on. Anyone know what can be done. Thinking maybe hire private van door to door ? Or can we still do train. Any advice or insight is helpful. We already canceled prior trip 5 months ago as another person had illness.

I don't know the answer to the train question, but if it was me I'd do the private van transfer anyway.
The stress of both the wheelchair user and the rest of the party is already likely to be quite high, so take the path of least effort.
I have used Welcome Pickups before and I'm sure they'd have a van.

I agree with Lin. We used Daytrip in Italy (2022). Not cheap, but money well-spent.
