Advice for rail strike on arrival

We arrive Friday, the 16th at 8 AM. Is it correct that the Leonado Xpress continues to run despite the strike? We had not purchased train tickets, as we are going directly to Salerno, because we were not confident the plane would arrive on time. Would it be safe, and wise, to now purchase train tickets for after 4 o’clock on Friday? If I understand correctly the strike is from 8 to 4? Experience travelers what is your advice?

If the trains are running at 4pm, remember that everyone who hadn't been able to travel all day will also be trying to buy tickets, so there will be a great demand. Perhaps someone who knows the transit system in Italy better than Incan chime in.
Safe travels!

The leo ex always runs, either as a train or as a substitute bus.

Since for now it's a "local public transit" strike The good news is that You can take an high speed train to Salerno, not a bus, a metro or a local train. More, You can always bet on Italotreno's staff not to go on strike.

The bad news is that since the strike ends at 16:00, trains start running from their initial stations at 16:00. Look at a map and you'll see why there are no high speed trains going south that start their run in Rome. Anyway, you'd better wait to get tickets.
