Hello, fellow travelers. I will be in Florence, Italy for 3 days the first of October. I need a plan, both for venues and restaurant advice, if you have any. We will be a group of 6 young senior women wanting a rooftop dining experience, and to see the major sites, minus the Uffizi. Please help!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
The AT A GLANCE section is a good place to start.

One of my favorite memories of Florence is walking up the hill to Piazzale Michelangelo in the morning. The little streets in the middle part of the walk are pretty, and you can scope out lunch spots for later. (I had housemade wild boar pasta in a little alley restaurant whose name I can't remember - but look for it!) The Piazzale has excellent views of the city. The nearby church, San Miniato al Monte, is perhaps underwhelming but the cemetery and columbarium is lovely, with war memorials and the Zeffirelli family plot. Have a wonderful trip!
Check out Tosca & Nino rooftop terrace at La Rinascente department store on Piazza della Repubblica. You have to queue for drinks but you can book ahead for a meal. Specify rooftop terrace.

Great views of the Duomo, especially lovely during that last hour of daylight as it gives way to twilight. You go more for the views than the food but we were very happy with what we ordered. Look at photos on TripAdvisor and see what you think. There are several other rooftop restaurants but I have firsthand experience with this one. Enjoy your visit to Florence.
Edited to add: agree with advice about Piazzale Michelangelo and San Miniato al Monte

This is an offering for some drinks and finger food at a private home in Florence- terrace with views of the city, plus info on where to go, what to see from their point of view. Sabrina is delightful as is her dog- Rio D.J. I didn’t do this but I did stay in their airbnb in Florence, which was really lovely.
