Advice for Advance tickets - Malin Duomo Rooftop Terraces but NO GUIDED TOUR.

I am trying to purchase skip the line tickets to Malin Duomo Rooftop Terraces but NO GUIDED TOUR.

I see this TripAdvisor option:
https://www.tripadvisor.com/AttractionProductDetail-g187849-d12053460-Milan_Duomo_Ticket_and_Terraces_Audio_Guide_Tour-Milan_Lombardy.html

Is purchasing this ticket now (in advance) the same as skipping the line? With this purchase, I believe you take your electronic ticket to the group ticket window to exchange for entrance voucher?

Can anyone advise on this ticket purchase?

Also any advice regarding the process once you arrive at the Duomo?

It has been a few years now for me, but I really enjoyed my time on the roof of the Duomo in Milan.

I never buy tickets in advance so I'm sure that I didn't then either. I don't remember more than a couple of minutes waiting, and that was waiting for the lift up to the roof after buying the tickets.

These days I am sure that there will be security checks - none when I was there, but of course even if you paid somebody to skip the line for tickets you can't skip the line for the security check. (I personally don't agree with the concept - why should somebody who happens to have more money than the next one have more entitlement to enter while the poorer person (probably came as far or maybe further) has to wait because he can't (or doesn't want to) pay (bribe) his way in faster?)

Once you are up on the beautiful - incredibly beautiful - roof you can wander around to your heart's content. No need for anybody to show you around.

I bought a special ticket that included the part-way elevator ride. Neither the ticket-buying line nor the security line was very long in mid-July last year. You get the tickets in a little building across the street on the right side of the Duomo.

If you are older, they will give you priority in the ticket-buying line. I look like the nonna I am, so I didn't have to prove my age. It went very quickly.

The entrance to the roof is outside on the back left side of the Duomo. There are many steps after the elevator stops. It is small and run by an operator.

Walking around among the gargoyles and buttresses was in the top 5 of my Italian experiences last summer. I absolutely loved it.

Nigel,
Thanks for your input but I am looking for current/relevant information.
What I am accomplishing is NOT an entitlement or a bribe.
Planning ahead does not cost more, it simply means you arrive with a reservation, versus showing up to purchase an entrance ticket.

I don't remember getting a special ticket to go into the Duomo itself, but perhaps it was covered by the "Duomo Pass A" I bought. As you can see from the link below, the ticket is much cheaper than the one you have linked in your question.

There was a security line for the Duomo which everyone has to go through, as is indicated on this Duomo page. There was another separate security line for the Terraces because the entrance is outside, as I mentioned before.

I do remember that there were many different kinds of tickets to be bought. I didn't do a tour, audio or otherwise. I did go to the Archeological Area, but not to the museum.

I don't see any advantage to paying extra for something you're not going to need. Based on my experience, I saw no way to skip the security lines. The ticket-buying process went so fast, I dont see any advantage to exchanging an electronic ticket since you'd probably be doing it at the same place.

There is an info email address at the bottom of the link. I'm sure they could answer your questions better than I can.

When you purchase your tickets online, the line you "skip" is the line to buy tickets. My husband and I just visited late last September and there was no line to purchase tickets--I walked right up to the counter. There was, however, a long line for security to enter the Duomo itself, and as the other posters said, you don't get to skip that line. There is also a security line for the rooftop, and as I recall that line was much shorter.
