My daughter and I will be rounding out a 10 Italy trip in 2 days in Rome. Do we need advance tickets to beat lines to the Vatican/Sistine Chapel? Advance helped tremendously in Florence. Grazier.

You can try going to the museums in the late afternoon but there is no guarantee the lines will be much shorter. If you want a guarantee of skipping the lines or want to go in the morning you should pre-purchase entry tickets. biglietteriamusei.vatican.va/musei/tickets/do?weblang=en&do Donna
