Advance Reservations to Florence Museums

Can someone recommend a website through which I can make advance reservations to Uffizi and Accademia Museums? The reservation fees and policies vary by site, and I'm confused. Thanks.

We had our hotel (HOtel Pendini) make our reservations. It did not cost us more. we paid at the museum when we reported in. no lines - no fuss.

Ask your hotel to do it for you. They usually do it for you free of charge. If your hotel refuses, then find a more cooperative hotel that will. I recommend the Residenza Il Villino - wonderful people and affordable hotel.

no need to go through a third party and pay omre - reserve with the museums themselves either by calling (1 number for both museums, english option) or reserving right on the museums' own website service that has recently been launched here

If you can't have your hotel do it for free:

Rick lists the numbers to call in his book and that is what we did. However, there could be a wait if you select the English option and of course the ticker is going on your international call. So if you know someone who speaks decent Italian, ask them to call (using your phone or your US phone card) and they will get an Italian-speaking rep. I understand that a few people do speak that in Italy. I spent 5 minutes waiting, called my brother who had self taught himself Italian and he called and got through to an Italian-speaking rep immediately and made the reservation.

We called the day we arrived in Florence (early August, peak high season) and had no problem getting advance tickets for the following day to both the Uffizi and Accademia.
