Hello,
We will be in Siena for a family event first weekend in August and we would like to extend the weekend by another 5-6 days. Where should we go? We have been to Florence, Rome and Venice. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do you have a car, or are you reliant on public transport?
If the former, then you are spoilt for choice: Montepulciano, Montalcino, Volterra - the Chianti and Val d'Orcia regions.
There are almost too many choices.
Further afield it is a relatively easy drive to either Orvieto or to Perugia /Assisi.
If restricted to Public transport, there are buses to Perugia or Arezzo. You can also easily do San Gimignano.

I suggest you rent a car in Siena and book into a nearby agriturismo. There's plenty of choices, just choose one that suits your needs and pocketbook.
You can then use it as your home base as you explore Tuscany. There's plenty of hill towns and other sites within an hour's drive of the Siena region. A small sample would be: Greve, Radda, Castellina, Montepulciano, Montalcino, San Gimignano, Volterra and a little farther afield but doable is Lucca and Cortona.
