We are in Tuscany now and will be driving to Venice tomorrow. Our plan is to park in Marghera. Originally we were going to take the bus to pizazzle Roma. The owner of the b&b said it is a 15 minute walk from Piazzale Roma to the b&b. we don't mind walking. My question is how difficult will it be to get a land taxi to Piazzale Roma from the parking facility in Marghera? A little hiccup, but not letting it spoil the trip!
Since I don't know where the parking facility is (I would have used Google Streetview and looked for a taxi stand)...would you consider training over? Sorry; I hope someone else can actually help you ;-)
Yes, take the train over the causeway. Santa Lucia is probably even closer than Piazzale Roma, but if not, only 20 minutes walk.
Let us know please, how the parking went in Marghera. I've never wanted to park next to the oil refineries but if its wonderful perhaps I will try it next time, later this summer. I usually park at Mestre.
We ended up parking at the Tronchetto. When we got to Marghera, there was very little parking. The place we found wanted 50 euro to park, so we decided to take our chance and drive over the bridge, we were actually worried that the parking facilities would be full, but that was not a problem. The parking was expensive, 21 euro per day, but at that point we really did not have a choice. It all worked out in the end. Thank you all for your input.
Thanks for getting back to us. Now we know.
