We have some time after arriving at the Trieste train station before leaving for Piran. What things are close by to see or do?

How much time? 30 minutes? 3-4 hours? There isn't much right at the station, but you can walk to the big
Piazza Unità d'Italia square at the center of town in about 15 min from the station. If you have 90 minutes, then this walk is doable without rushing too much; an hour layover might be doable as a very brisk walk back and forth without much time to dwell.

We're looking forward to Piran and heading south to Rovinj, Pula, Split, etc. . . Suggestions for things to do and places to eat in Piran? Thank you for the Trieste suggestion. We're using GoOpti to Piran so I can choose the time we leave Trieste.
