We're going to be staying in a house in Monticchiello in May, driving from Orvieto. When I asked our landlady to recommend a place in bewteen to stop for a nice lunch she recommended the town of Acquapendente. Does anyone have any first-hand knowledge of this town. I must admit it's a new one on me!

We drove through it a couple of times when we stayed at a villa in Torre Alfina, and we drove there for an evening meal on our last day in the area. It seemed to be a nice village. The main piazza is very similar to most small towns with an area for public gatherings and a few stores. We didn't explore the town on foot, so I can't offer a whole lot of recommendations. Not sure if this offers you much assistance, but I'm sure you can find a good place for a quiet lunch.

Thanks Charlie for your reply. I posted the same question on another site, and they also mentioned Torre Alfina! Looks like we won't have any problem finding a place to eat. I think the best thing about our landlady's advice is that it will take us on a less direct but more interesting route from Orvieto than google maps!
