Hi all! This may sound vague, but for religious reasons I am planning a trip to places in Italy, and the 2 options I have been given are Acilia (near Rome) and Tavarnelle Val Di Pesa (near Florence). I can't find any real information on either location. Can someone help me with info, or perhaps suggest resources where I can find information on topics such as accomodations, transportation and the like?

Monique - Steve has hit the highlights pretty well. I have not been to Acilia, but stayed near Tavarnelle Val Di Piesa at Castello di Pastine (about 5-10 min away). You would need a car for it, but I must say that was a nice place. Tavarnelle is a small place with a main square that has a market, and some sporadic restaurants. Was great though for a base to go elsewhere. One watch out - at least when we were there - the last bus back from Florence left possibly earlier than you may like (about 7 pm if i remember).
