Accomodations near a vaporetto stop, Venice

Does anyone know of any hostels or lower-priced B&B's near the San Marco vaporetto stop in Venice? We need to be located closeby because of a very early morning departure to the airport. We will need to take the first water bus we can, and the San Marco one leaves at 3.40, which will work best.

Thanks! I've already asked them about availability, and they have none :(

We could also stay near the S. Zaccaria Vaporetto and Fondamenta Nuove Vaporetto stops. Any of these (including S. Marco) will get us to the airport at 4.59 (according to the water bus' website).

Don't have any hotel suggestions as we always stay in apartments in Venice. But you do have three shots at the early Alilaguna boat to the airport. On the front side of Venice, the San Marco Alilaguna dock and then on the opposite side of the Doge's Palace is the San Zaccaria dock. The pick up at San Zac is at 03:44. About the same time but makes that area a bit more accessable. In addition, Alilaguna also picks at Fondamente Nove on the "back" side of Venice at 04:21. that area is removed from the touristy area very close in to Piazza San Marco and accomodations may be cheaper. Also if you get to Piazzale Roma by before 05:00, you can catch the blue ATVO fly bus for 3 euro per person that will get you to the airport before 05:30. There is not much open at Marco Polo before 05:30, so you should be ok to catch a flight. It is a smaller aiport and fairly easy to navigate. Alilaguna will get you to the airport docks which are about a 10 minute walk from the main terminal.

I realize that since you have the schedule correct that you know it is the Alilaguna Linea Blu and not the vaporetto. When you are in Venice ask for the Alilaguna stop. It will be close but not in the same spot as the vaporetto stop. Also consider taking a small flashlight or headlamp with you for your early departure. There is lighting but not always exactly covering your entire path.
