Accomodations in Siena

We are planning a trip to Italy that includes Tuscany. We will be spending 5 nights and think that Siena would be most centrally located for the towns we want to visit. I started looking at all the recommended places in the Rick Steves guidebook and most of them are already booked. There is one available but is beyond our budget.

Can anyone recommend a place in Siena that is not in the book? We need to be in the 200 euro or less per day range, have parking close by, have an elevator, not on a main piazza (noise) and doesn't require us to trudge a long distance with our luggage. I know that is asking a lot but I hope that elusive hotel exists.

Thank you for your help, fellow travelers.

I was going to recommend Palazzo Ravizza as well. If this is the hotel you mentioned as being beyond your budget, FWIW, they offered us a 10% discount to pay in cash, so it may be worth emailing them to inquire if they will offer a cash discount. We paid less than €200/night and breakfast is included free of charge.

You can also filter the reviews and those reviews can only be posted by people who have actually stayed at the property so they are legit.

At the very bottom of listings you will find all facilities and amenities listed - for example “elevator “ will be listed under “General”

You can filter reviews using words like “lift” or “stairs” to see if any mentions in the reviews
Or “parking” to see if any reviews mention how easy or difficult it might be

ChristineH and Crystal B - follow up question on Palazzo Ravizza.

If parking is not available due to limited parking space how far is the nearest parking lot? Is it free or paid? Can you drive up to the hotel to load and unload luggage?
If we move our dates a bit they have an opening. Thank you!

The hotel does have its own very nearby parking lot.

Diane-

Their parking lot is behind and below the hotel. You drive up to drop luggage then they will direct you to the lot. We arrived late in the day and there were plenty of spaces available- that was a long time ago- 2014! but I don't think too any people arrive with cars.

I know RS mentions some parking lots in his guide and Roberto would be able to tell you which is best- they are all outside the walls AFAIK.

I would just try to arrive early if you can- they will hold your bags and give you a parking space before check in time. Be sure to tell them you need a space when you reserve.

I hope it works out for you- it's a nice hotel and the views from their terrace are fantastic.

Nancy - thank you for the info. I was just concerned because the web site says there is limited parking.

Diane - when I stayed last May, their parking lot was only half full and they were fully booked. Of course, number of guests with vehicles can vary day by day. I would think they would be able to provide suggestions for alternative parking locations if their lot is full.

Please keep us posted if you end up booking with them and report back after your trip - the hotel, the garden and the views are all lovely. We loved it so much we are returning in two weeks!

Thank you so much for the info. Yes, I booked the hotel and will report back after the trip. Not until the fall so I have a long time to look forward to it. Very excited as it is my first time in Tuscany, other than Florence.
This group is amazingly helpful and I appreciate all the feedback.
Thanks!
