accomodations in rome, florence and venice

I found a website for accomodations in Rome, Florence and Venice that has great rates (almost too good to believe)and was wondering if anyone has used them before. The site is www.cross-pollinate.com I would like to book through them but don't know anything about them. Can anyone help me?

hmm...haven't heard of them. I would check the http://www.slowtrav.com site first though - they list lots of reviews of vacation rentals and B&Bs and are very helpful.

A search of the term "cross-pollinate" in the box in the upper right hand corner of this web page will reveal many hits and perhaps provide the information you're searching for.

I have used cross-pollinate many time and they are wonderful!... It is operated by an american couple living in rome and the woman who runs the website is named Amy and is very helpful. They are all bed and breakfasts and everyplace that I have stayed has been very, very nice and very inexpensive. Please, do not hesitate to use them!!!!!!!

another good site www.venere.com. I think you can search hotel, B&Bs, etc. I've used them to get an idea of where to stay. Then, I go to the hotel's web site and book directly through them. I've gotten slightly better rates that way. The web site you mentioned looks to be B&Bs only, so it makes sense that the rates are less.

if you wanna save HUGE $$, consider hostels: i went that way the whole 2 weeks;u can score a "pvt.2 bed" for considerably cheaper, and the accomedations were wonderful. i used "casa olmata" ["in the book'] in rome, and '6 small rooms" in florence..both +safe, VERY clean, secure...a good site = www. hostelbookers.com
u didn't say how long, but if you use even a few nights w/ hostels, u will save literally HUNDREDS..[and i mean EUROS]

The Beehive is located two blocks from the Termini in Rome. The major bus hub is also located just outside the Termini.
The Beehive serves breakfast, lunch and dinner for a cost. It is a very nice, clean B&B/hostel (one dorm room)and several individual rooms. They are open 24 hrs. The restaurant in the basement is open from 7:30 to about 8:00 or so for dinner.
They also have apartments listed under the cross-pollinate website. Our room was 75 Euro (108.75 USD) in Oct and 70 Euro in Nov. = 101.50 USD).
