I will be spending 4 nights in Rome. Any recommendations for Pensiones, Bed and Breakfast or lower cost hotels especially in the Historic Centre (Centro Storico)? Thank you.
We stayed at the Hotel Navona in October and really enjoyed it. Great location, staff, rooms and breakfast. Located close to all historical sites and 1 block from Piazza Navona.
Lots listed in the Rick Steves guidebook. Failing that, Hotel Smeraldo gets good reviews and is well-located. Or try www.Booking.com where you can plug in your filters and read some reviews.
Thank you for your input.
Since 2009 we've stayed at a really great b&b called Armonio Al' Opera, located across the street from the Roma Opera House on Via Viminale. The rooms are spacious, extremely clean, and the owner speaks English. It's a 5 minute walk to the metro at Piazza Repubblica, the restaurant downstairs, Al' Amtraciana, is one of our favorites. We especially like the pasta Amatriciana and the staff is very friendly. The neighborhood is quiet, but you are not in the center of the city.
If you are traveling by train it is a 10 minute walk from Stazione Termimi or a short cab ride.
Buon viaggio,
