I am flying into Milan via Orio al Serio (furthest airport from Milan center apparently) and wanted to know the best way there. Is there a train? Also, any recommended accomodations. I am there one night.
Orio al Serio is not in Milan, but just outside of Bergamo. I believe there is a shuttle that runs from the airport to Milan, otherwise there is a bus that can take you to the train station in Bergamo from where there are many trains to Milano Centrale.
Bergamo is a beautiful city so if you don't feel like going into Milan right away, staying in Bergamo would be a good idea.
I know the bus to Milan is 45-1 hour one way. If I take the bus to the train station, is that a quicker way into Milan?
I immagine it would be just easier to take the shuttle, instead of going into Bergamo, getting the train to get into Milan. What time are you arriving? It is true that traffic on the A4, which runs between Milan and Bergamo is intense during rush hour, but as you aren't driving it shouldn't matter.
